Quick single day trip to the Pinnacles in Western Australia a few hours drive north of Perth. The actual Pinnacles are found over a huge area in this mini-desert, but there is a special place for visitors where there are lots of them together. Ideally this location should be shot at sunset/sunrise, but that probably means sleeping there !
A year working at the Lake Giles Iron Ore exploration site has provided a lot of good memories, hard work and much learning.
Though many people think the operation is ‘way out in the bush’ this is no desert, steep hills and small mountain ranges combine with eucalyptus forests and dense shrub-rich creeks to make quite a special place to be working in.
Photographic oportunities are around every corner, but working from 5:30 till late evenings leaves little time for the imagination to prey on the land. Nevertheless I take every opportunity I have to document it!
A couple of days in Turkey, staying at a campsite on the northern Black Sea coast and spending a full day to browse the main attractions Istanbul has to offer. Needless to say Hagia Sofia was mesmerising, and the city itself enthralling with its bustling busy streets, markets and restaurants.
A couple of days ‘down south’ in Albany over the Christmas weekend. The town of Albany was nice enough and the tree top walk was impressive….but no pictures from the Mt Clarence downhill track where I got to play with a 2010 Demo 8 downhill bike!
Wedding trip !
No embarassing wedding photos here, I’ve mostly included ones from the trip up and around the Bordeaux area so there’s stuff from quite a few places including Monte Carlo, Venice (not quite as glamourous as some imagine) and St Emillion- it’s a tough job, but someone has to do it!
