4 day whistle stop tour of Ireland. Ferry landing at Rosslare, up through Dublin, Drogheda, Belfast, Giant’s causeway, Derry, Donegal, Galway, Conemara, Cliffs of Moher, back through Limerick, Kilkenny and off home! And it only rained once!!

The last RSM geology field trip. We flew down to Ancona, spent a few days in Scheggia, headed west to Perugia for another few days and then traversed to the island of Elba.
Skiing and photography don’t mix, but taking in turns produced some ok results for a first time. The skiing was much better anyway!!
A day of fun around Swinley forest with a couple of sessions at the sandy cutting and plenty of going round in circles – at least we know every single route that gets to the coveted hydrant !
A week trip to our seaside, covering the whole coastline from Durankulak to Rezovo almost twice over (with a wedding in the middle!!). Suffice to say some parts of the coastline should definately be avoided while others proved very pleasant and attractive!
Castellane MkII! No surfing but plenty of swimming, cycling and walking. Highlights include camping at the Sommet de Cremon and a 6hr mountain bike tour of the lake up from Courchons down the west shore of the lake through the crazy La Baume and around the barrage in the south.
All in all some rather gnarrrrly rocky path decents and a worthy return to Castellane altogether !
Another trip cut short ! Our attempt to get over Moussala was stifled by heavy winds and bad visibility. A good trip nonetheless.
Short 3 day trip up from Karlovo spending a day at the Vassil Levski chalet with a walk up to central col where the trail to Rai splits off.
Miserable weather on day 2 turned to great sunshine in the afternoon.

Most of our time was spent near the small village of St Julien with the mapping area set on the east side of the Castillon lake which would be the bluest lake ever if it wasn’t for the lower lake ‘Retenue de Chaudamme’ which is ridiculously blue…
